Rate increases have been announced by the U.S. Postal Service, Federal Express and United Parcel Service, effective in January. Effective Jan. 2, USPS will raise rates an overall 3.6 percent on domestic and international Priority Mail, Express Mail and parcel shipping. Effective Jan. 3, FedEx will raise express and ground rates for domestic and international shipments overall by 5.9 percent. And effective Jan. 3, UPS will raise air and ground rates for domestic and international shipments overall by 4.9 percent.
