* Effective Jan. 2, USPS raised rates an overall 3.6 percent on domestic and international Priority Mail, Express Mail and parcel shipping. Effective today (Monday, Jan. 3) FedEx will raise express and ground rates for domestic and international shipments overall by 5.9 percent. Also effective Jan. 3, UPS will raise air and ground rates for domestic and international shipments overall by 4.9 percent.
* The state of Kansas recently concluded an initial enrollment period for a new voluntary Group Long Term Care insurance benefit, and the State Employee Health Plan is interested in your opinion about the enrollment campaign for this new benefit by Wednesday, Jan. 5. * The Office of Multicultural Affairs has announced that Natalie McLaurian Toney is the new program coordinator. A proud alumna of Wichita State University, she will join the office at the first of the year from Dallas.
* HealthQuest is pleased to offer our members the nation's leading tobacco cessation program: Quit For Life! Employees who elected during open enrollment to participate in the tobacco cessation program to receive a premium discount are not required to quit using tobacco.
