* The men's basketball luncheon, scheduled for today (Wednesday, Feb. 9), has been postponed to noon Tuesday, Feb. 22.

* A recent book, "Academically Adrift," makes the case that students are not learning what they should in college. Faculty and staff are invited to an open forum to discuss the book and strategies for improving student learning and success at WSU from 1-2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 9) in 203 RSC. * The Office of Multicultural Affairs invites the campus community to a presentation about the Dockum Sit-in from 1:30-2:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 9) at the Wichita Public Library, third floor auditorium.

* Wichita Eagle reporter Roy Wenzl will present "Science in Journalism" from 2-3 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 9) in 128 Jabara Hall as part of the Spring 2011 Physics Seminar Series.

* This week's chemistry colloquium will feature Shalini Prasad, Bomhoff Distinguished Professor in Bioengineering at Wichita State, speaking on "Nanotechnology enabled miniaturized platforms" at 3:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 9) in 224 McKinley Hall.

* The Black History Month Film Series features "Roots" at 7 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 9) in the CAC Theater. "Roots" is based on Alex Haley's best-selling novel about his African ancestors. Admission is free for WSU students with ID, $2 for WSU faculty/staff, $3 for general public and 50 cents for children 12 and under.
