Who's Who deadlines approaching fast

Each year, a select group of students is called forward to accept one of the most prestigious awards the academic community can bestow -- selection to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. This exclusive honor is conferred by more than 1,900 schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia and is symbolized by the presentation of an award certificate. Nominations are due Friday, Feb. 18.

Junior, senior and graduate students are eligible for nomination. Students will be selected on the basis of their contributions to the university as well as their academic qualifications, leadership abilities and co-curricular involvement. To be eligible, a student must have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.

Undoubtedly, you have many excellent students involved in your programs and units; however, we are asking you to recommend only those students whom you consider to be clearly outstanding. Feel free to consult with faculty members who may also be in contact with students who meet the outline criteria.

A nomination form can be found at http://www.wichita.edu/whoswho. You may either submit online or return the nomination form to the Center for Student Leadership, campus box 66.

Nominations are due Friday, Feb. 18. Students will be notified of their nomination and asked to submit an application for consideration by the selection committee.
