Psychology Department Colloquium features topic of social change

"Social Change via Change in Social Settings" is the topic of the Psychology Department Colloquium from 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, in 209 Hubbard Hall. The presentation will be made by Beth Shinn, professor and chair, Department of Human and Organizational Development, Peabody College, Vanderbilt University. Shinn has been a national and international leader in promoting youth development for more than 30 years.

Her enduring interests include reducing homelessness and promoting youth development through working with schools, community organizations and child welfare agencies. Shinn has published more than 80 articles and eight books, and her work models how social research can be used to promote social change.
