CSD announces Outstanding Alumni Award

Douglas Martin, an associate professor at the University of Cincinnati, is the recipient of the 2011 CSD Outstanding Alumni Award, an annual honor given by the WSU Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Martin completed a Ph.D. in audiology at Wichita State in 1989. He will be honored at a reception/presentation on Friday, April 1. Martin has published broadly regarding technology use in instructional/ clinical applications in the CSD discipline, as well as investigating the effects of noise exposure in non-human mammals. He developed the Student Assessment Management System, a Web-based tool now used by more than 45 programs nationwide, to track student learning outcomes in accordance with certification/ accreditation standards. In 2009, he was named a Fellow of American Speech-Language and Hearing Association in recognition of his outstanding contributions.
