The Connoisseur Series will present pianist Leon Fleisher in a concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17, in Wiedemann Recital Hall. Call 978-3233 for tickets. Fleisher and the St. Petersburg String Quartet will have a free and open to the public chamber music rehearsal at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, in Wiedemann Recital Hall.

The American pianist and conductor started studying the piano at age 4. He made his public debut at 8, and played with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra under Pierre Monteux at 16. He is particularly well-known for his interpretations of the piano concerti of Johannes Brahms and Beethoven.
