Judges sought for Greek Awards

The time for the annual fraternity and sorority Greek Awards program is approaching and faculty and staff are needed to serve as judges. This annual program recognizes the WSU fraternities and sororities excelling in various areas of chapter development as well as individual members, advisers and supportive community members. All judging will take place between Tuesday, April 19, and Friday, April 22, in the Woodman Alumni Center conference room. If you are interested in judging, contact gina.knauff@wichita.edu.

Judges are needed for four different categories. Please review the available judging options to determine whether you can help.

The awards program will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, May 9, in the CAC Theater.

Judging opportunities

Dr. Sam Cohlmia Greek Man & Woman of the Year Award: 1-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 19
These judges will interview all applicants for this prestigious award, review their application packet and make a collective decision on a male and female winner. Judges will receive training from 1-1:30 p.m.

Craig Barton Outstanding Sophomore of the Year Award: 1-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 20
These judges will interview all applicants for this prestigious award, review their application packet and make a collective decision on a male and female winner. Judges will receive training from 1-1:30 p.m.

Non-Interview Awards (all applications): 1-3 p.m. Thursday, April 21
There are a number of awards that require chapters to only complete a paper application. These judges will be responsible for reviewing the applications and making a collective decision for a winner in each category. Judges will receive packets on Tuesday, April 12, to provide enough time for review and decision-making.

Dr. James Rhatigan Award for Fraternal Excellence: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, April 22, lunch provided
These judges will receive training during lunch. They will then review a presentation and question and answer period from a team of chapter members as well as review their application packet and rank each organization in various areas of development. The judges score independently; however, their scores will be compiled to determine a winner in each category and the overall winner.
