An industrial and manufacturing engineering senior design project "Cessna Metal Bond Flow Improvement," presented by Coty Sandfort, was awarded second place at the Institute of Industrial Engineers Regional Student Paper Competition in Stillwater, Okla., Feb. 25-26. The competition includes industrial engineering students from Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. In the past 10 years, students from WSU have placed 13 times and won seven times. Winners at the regional level also compete internationally. In seven trips to the international competition, WSU has placed five times and claimed first three times. No other IE program has a comparable record.
