Service opportunity for students April 2 and May 7

Service in the City (SIC) is geared to students who want to serve, but cannot commit to a long-term project. Service in the City is designed to introduce students to thoughtful community service and provide a learning experience that will challenge them to volunteer on a regular basis. The continuing goal of SIC is to strengthen students' capacity to help solve problems within our society. Students can register at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?939.

Projects are completed in one day and are facilitated by a Center for Student Leadership staff member. Projects are designed to connect students to an experience that will allow them to think critically about social issues and apply their learned knowledge to resolving community problems.

Students will be able to go "into the streets" for a day service experience. After completing the service experience, students will return to campus for lunch and facilitated reflection on meaningful service. Transportation is provided, and the event is free.
