Hippodrome: Huxley's Got Game!
The fun begins today (Monday, April 11) with a weeklong Clue competition -- can you figure out who did it?
There will be oodles of doodles on Tuesday, April 12, with the Pictionary themed event "Picture This." We will provide the marker and paper; you'd better bring your skills.
I hope you are hungry like a hippo on Wednesday, April 13; President Beggs will visit with students at an open breakfast at "Hungry Hungry Huxley."
A little friendly competition isn't complete without an intense game of Twister at Thursday's event "Twist N' Shout."
If your drawing skills aren't up to par or you miss out on breakfast, make sure you come out to support the biggest Hippodrome tradition of all, the skit competitions. This year's participants are Alpha Phi and Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Gamma Phi Beta and Beta Theta Pi, Delta Gamma and Sigma Phi Epsilon, Pi Iota Chi and Kappa Sigma, and Phi Delta Theta and Delta Delta Delta have a show ready for you.
Each group has been working long hours to write, direct, choreograph and create the perfect performance for the Wichita State community. In addition to the skit competitions, 11 special attractions will feature their many talents including song, dance, magic and illusion.
Opening performances take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, and Thursday, April 14; admission is $4 for WSU students and $5 for faculty staff (with your Shocker ID) and $6 for the general public. Saturday, April 16, will feature the final skit performances beginning at 1 p.m. Final skit admission will be $8 for WSU students and $10 for faculty/staff (with your Shocker ID) and $12 for the general public. All skits will be held in the CAC Theater.
