What if we were able to detect a heart attack in an individual a few hours before onset? Or predict factors related to dementia or Alzheimer's, which would improve the quality of life for our elderly? What if there were a means to offset disease, lower health-care costs and reduce time spent in a doctor's care? Faculty and students in Wichita State's bioengineering program are conducting research and developing materials, processes and devices to do just that.
