* About 2,230 students are eligible to participate in the 113th spring commencement ceremonies at Wichita State Friday and Saturday, May 13-14, in Charles Koch Arena. http://www.wichita.edu/j/?1035

* Plan now to participate in the Michael Tilford Conference on Diversity and Multiculturalism Oct. 24-25 at Kansas State University. * Join WSU first lady Shirley Beggs' Striders 4 Life team in the upcoming Victory in the Valley walk/run on Saturday, May 21, at Exploration Place, 300 N. McLean. To join, go to http://www.victoryinthevalley.org and click on "Register for Race Online." On the form, use the drop box for the team name and select Shirley's Striders 4 Life. For team captain, put Shirley Beggs or Shirley's Striders. You also are welcome to simply make a donation to support the team and Victory in the Valley, a nonprofit cancer support organization.

* Welcomefest 2011, "Ride the Wave to WSU," will be held from Monday, Aug. 22, to Friday, Sept. 2. The Student Activities Council will help you advertise your events and services. The deadline to advertise in the Times (calendar mailed to all registered students) is Wednesday, June 8; additional applications received by Friday, July 29, will be included in Welcomefest publications.
