The Kansas Board of Regents, in a special meeting on Monday, May 16, named H. Edward Flentje as Emporia State University's interim president. Flentje, an ESU alumnus, is currently a professor of public administration at Wichita State University and most recently served as the director of WSU's Hugo Wall School of Urban and Public Affairs. Flentje will serve as ESU's interim president from July 1 until a new president takes office. He has indicated he will not be a candidate for the ESU presidency.
