College of Education hosts Shock U

Shock U, a camp for high school students interested in teaching as a career, will conclude today (Thursday, June 2). The three-day camp was funded by a U.S. Department of Education Teacher Quality Partnership grant between the Wichita Public Schools and the WSU College of Education. The 29 students are learning about the WSU teacher education program and opportunities for study and scholarships at WSU. In addition, they discussed teaching as a career with WSU faculty. The campers also visited College Hill Elementary School. Qualified high school students may earn a scholarship for one hour of college credit at WSU by participating in the workshop.
