Adult CPR/AED Clinic set for June 24

An adult CPR/AED Clinic for students, faculty and staff will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 24, in 134 Heskett Center. It will be conducted by Frank Rokosz, associate professor of Human Performance Studies. The cost is $10.

Prior to attending the clinic, you should read "First Aid and CPR/AED for Schools and the Community Participants Manual." It can be purchased at the WSU Bookstore or at the Red Cross office, 1900 E. Douglas. Before attending the clinic, become familiar with the adult material in the first five chapters (the child and infant material is not part of this clinic).

There will be demonstrations and explanations of what you need to do to get certified; but it's best to have a prior working knowledge of how to do the five skill demonstrations involved (check unconscious person, CPR, unconscious choking, conscious choking, AED).

Aside from the skills demonstrations, you need to pass, with a grade of at least 80 percent, a multiple-choice written test on the assigned material.
