* The State of Kansas has announced a Voluntary Retirement Incentive Program (VRIP) that provides incentives to eligible, classified State of Kansas employees who offer to retire between now and Sept. 19. The VRIP is not available to employees covered under the Kansas Police and Firemen Plan or employees who have previously retired from the State of Kansas. * The Media Resources Center is offering training on a variety of Blackboard subjects, Panopto and other elearning topics. These sessions are hands-on, allowing participants to use the software while being instructed. * Save the evening of Saturday, Oct. 1, on your calendar for Rockin' the Roundhouse, Wichita's premier social event of the year. Hosted by the WSU Alumni Association and WSU Athletics, the event, now in its eighth year, begins at 6 p.m. at Charles Koch Arena and continues all evening with food, drink and silent and live auctions. Proceeds benefit student and student-athlete scholarships and alumni programs.
* The annual We're Not Back to School Bash returns with a 1980s theme at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at Duerksen Amphitheatre. There will be a live band, food, beer, soft drinks and lots of fun. The cost is $10 for alumni association members and $20 for nonmembers. Grab a couple of lawn chairs and come party. Must be 21 or older to attend.
