Get ready to Rise and Shine

The WSU Alumni Association's 2011-12 Distinguished Alumni Breakfast Series is ready to launch another season of presentations from accomplished alumni. The first breakfast, featuring Carol D. (McAdoo) Rehme '72 and Norman L. Rehme '73, is Thursday, Oct. 20, in the RSC ballroom. Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. and the presentation follows at 8 a.m. For more information about the series, contact mandy.fleming@wichita.edu.

The Rehmes have been selected as recipients of this year's Elliott School of Communication Outstanding Alumni Award.

Carol Rehme, who began her career at The Wichita Sun, is an award-winning author and speaker who has written or edited more than a dozen inspirational books and numerous short stories, including several titles in the popular "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series.

Norman Rehme is a nationally recognized, certified master photographer with 42 years of experience. He is a former photojournalist at Wichita's KAKE and Denver's KBTV. The couple, who live in Loveland, Colo., are involved in promoting and advocating for the arts in their hometown.
