The unofficial kick off to the new academic year occurred at Tuesday's Convocation in Koch Arena. The 12th Annual Flag Competition welcomed 26 submissions from various student groups on campus. The winners are as follows: fourth place, Shocker Forever; third place, Kansas Association of Nursing Students; second place, Physical Therapy Class of '14; and first place, Sculpture Guild. All flags will be available for viewing in the University Bookstore until Thursday, Sept. 15.
