Health and training opportunities at the Heskett Center

The Heskett Center is offering two health and training opportunities starting the week of Sept. 12 -- Kansans Optimizing Health Program and a 5K Pumpkin Run Training Program.

Kansas Optimizing Health Program
KOHP is an interactive workshop that meets for two-and-a-half hours once a week for six weeks. This workshop will help set goals, develop a plan and track progress toward improving your health -- one step at a time.

The program will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 12, through Monday, Oct. 24, in 206 Heskett Center.

5K Pumpkin Run Training Program
Have you ever wanted to run or walk a 5K (3.1 miles) and didn't know where to start? Sign up for this six-week training program, beginning the week of Sept. 12 and ending with the Pumpkin Run on Saturday, Oct. 22, and receive weekly educational topics, a training schedule and more.

Educational topics will be covered on Tuesdays at 5:15 p.m. or Wednesdays at 12:10 p.m. in 143 Heskett Center. The cost is $35 for students/members, $45 for nonmembers. The class fee includes the Pumpkin Run registration.
