Ulrich Museum kicks off major art conservation project with "See Miro Go" on Sept. 27

Located on the Ulrich Museum of Art's facade, Spanish artist Joan Miro's great mosaic -- Personnages Oiseaux (Bird People) -- is a campus and city icon. Join in this special celebration, "See Miro Go," that will kick off a five-year conservation project to save Miro's mosaic, a world masterpiece in Wichita by one of the most distinguished modern artists. Watch as the conservation crew begins the process of taking down all 80 panels of the monumental 26-by-52 feet mosaic. Festivities begin at noon Tuesday, Sept. 27, with music and refreshments followed by the official campaign kick-off from President Don Beggs and removal of the panels. This event is free and open to the public.
