The first meeting of the Wichita Committee on Foreign Relations 2011-12 season will be Wednesday, Sept. 28, when the speaker will be Steve Clemons from The Atlantic magazine. Former WSU President Harry Corbin and Graduate Dean Hugo Wall initiated a town-gown group called the Wichita Committee on Foreign Relations in 1955. Affiliated with the New York Council on Foreign Relations, it was established for the purpose of initiating a community dialogue concerning matters of U.S. foreign policy, national security and international trade. The group is in its 56th season of holding monthly meetings with national and international speakers who have expertise on various facets of global affairs.
