* The University Libraries and Department of English have announced the first event in the 8th Annual Poetry and Fiction Reading Series featuring Paul Dickey, poet and playwright from Omaha, Neb., from 3-4 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 6) on the lower level of Ablah Library. Join us for the reading and refreshments.
* The documentary "Papers" will be shown at 6 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 6) in 203 RSC. "Papers" is a film about the challenges undocumented youth face as they graduate from high school and enter the real world without legal status. Admission is free.
* Plan now to participate in the Michael Tilford Conference on Diversity and Multiculturalism Oct. 24-25 at Kansas State University. This conference is named in memory of the late Michael Tilford, WSU's representative on the Regents Diversity and Multiculturalism Committee from its onset in 1994 until his death in 1996. * Last year, faculty and staff used United Way-supported services on more than 325 occasions. Recently you received information on how you can support United Way during its annual campaign. * WSU's Institutional Review Board is introducing its new electronic submission process. Beginning in fall 2011, all submissions will be processed electronically by sending your IRB applications via email to IRB@wichita.edu. Applications can be found at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?1198
* The Intensive English Language Center needs volunteers to be conversation leaders, spending time on Wednesdays helping international students practice conversational English. If you are a native speaker of American English and would like to volunteer, send an email to william.thomas@wichita.edu.
