* Faculty are encouraged to let their students know about the European Travel Seminar being offered for the summer 2012 pre-session. Carolyn Shaw, associate professor and chair of political science, will be taking students to Krakow, Prague, Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest. The deadline to make a reservation is Saturday, Oct. 15. * The Association of Hindu Students in America are hosting Garba Night from 8-11:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, in the Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Admission is free. Garba is a high-energy dance in a circle with sticks during the festival of Navratri.
* Student Health Services is offering flu vaccines during triage times -- Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. Wednesdays; and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Fridays. The cost is $15 for students/$10 if you bring in two nonperishable food items for the Kansas Food Bank, and $25 for staff and faculty/$20 if you bring in two nonperishable food items for the Kansas Food Bank. * The Center for Management Development will present "Quality Control and Six Sigma" from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 25-26, in Woodman Alumni Center.
