LAPO to present 'Astronomical Zoo' LAPO to present 'Astronomical Zoo'

Lake Afton Public Observatory, sponsored by WSU's Fairmount Center for Science and Mathematics Education, will feature "Astronomical Zoo" from 7:30-1 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14-15. Admission is $4 adults, $3 children 6-12 and free for children under 6. The price for a family is $12. LAPO is located at MacArthur Rd. at 247th St. W. in Lake Afton County Park, Goddard.

When you visit a zoo, you expect to see a wide variety of creatures from the relatively common to the exotic. When you come out to the observatory this fall for our Astronomical Zoo programs you will be treated to a tour of our zoo-in-the-sky. Just as you would expect with a terrestrial zoo, some of the objects we will observe will be relatively common like Jupiter, while others will be exotic like the Andromeda galaxy.
