* The Admissions Brown Bag Lunch Series continues at 11:30 a.m. today (Friday, Oct. 14) in 207 RSC, for faculty, staff and students. Connie Dietz, director of Cooperative Education and Work-Based Learning, and Bobby Gandu, director of admissions, will discuss how their units have forged strong working relationships in the recruitment and admissions process, and how that has carried over to high-level awareness of internship options for incoming students.

* Students in first semester EECS Senior Design will be showing working prototypes of their original designs from 1:30-2:30 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 14) in Wallace Hall lobby.

* Safe Zone Training from 3-5 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 14) in 203 RSC, will provide you with up-to-date trends, resources and information to ensure a safe atmosphere for students and staff of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities on campus. * The faculty and staff giving campaign, WSU COUNT!, runs throughout October. Check your campus mail box this week for more on the campaign and how to make your gift. * William R. Patton, 40, building systems engineer, Physical Plant, died Sept. 24 from a scuba diving accident. Bill's fiance Tina Langholz and Bill's parents are having a memorial service for him at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Watson Park, 3022 S. McLean Boulevard. Dress casual and bring a lawn chair to the service.

* Wichita State will observe fall break Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 17-18. No classes will be held on those days, although most university offices will remain open. During fall break, the Heskett Center will be open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15; 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16; and 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 17-18.
