* WSU Libraries and the Department of English invite you to a reading by Katherine Vaz, award-winning author and Distinguished Fiction Writer in Residence from 3-4 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 27) on the lower level of Ablah Library. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

* Basketball fans will want to attend Shocker Madness today (Thursday, Oct. 27) in Charles Koch Arena. The men's autograph session begins at 5 p.m. with free basketball posters being handed out. The women's scrimmage begins at 6 p.m., followed by the NIT ring presentation and men's scrimmage. Free admission.

* Join artist Anne Appleby for an illustrated talk "Pathways to Vision" on her most recent paintings at 6 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 27) in 210 McKnight Art Center West (WSU School of Art and Design). Ulrich Museum galleries will be open until 6 p.m. and admission is free. Attendees are encouraged to view Appleby's paintings from the Ulrich Project Series on view in the Amsden Gallery.

* The faculty and staff giving campaign, WSU COUNT!, runs throughout October. This program is part of the WSU Foundation Annual Fund and gives much needed support to the university.
