The Office for Faculty Development and Student Success invites faculty and staff to two presentation. Masud Chand will present "What I Learned while Developing a Course in Business, Government, and Society," from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, in 220 Hubbard Hall. Trisha Self will present "Life before, during, and after redesigning a course: Moving from a 'tradition' to a 'cooperative learning' environment" from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in 220 Hubbard Hall. Chand, an OFDSS Faculty Fellow in spring 2011, will discuss some of the learning strategies he incorporated in a new course and their expected learning outcomes.

Self, an OFDSS Faculty Fellow in spring 2011, will review lessons learned, strategies that did and didn't work, and student perceptions of the learning environment. Self converted a course that has been mostly lecture-driven to be based instead on cooperative learning among student teams.
