* The ladies of Alpha Phi invite you and your family to their upcoming philanthropy event, Alpha Phiesta -- an all-you-can-eat taco dinner for $5 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 11) at the chapter house on Omega Court. All proceeds will benefit cardiac care and research.

* Akosua Adomako Ampofo, this year's recipient of Sociologists for Women in Society's Feminist Activist Award and director of the Institute of African Studies at the University of Ghana, will present "Responding to Violence: Local Activism in a Global Context" at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, in the CAC Theater. Admission is free.

* Celebrate the Muslim festival Eid-al Adha, or the Festival of Sacrifice, from 4:30-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Fairmount Towers Commons dining center. The celebration will include dinner and socializing, hosted by the Pakistani Student Association.
