Kansas Dance Festival 2011

The Wichita State University School of Performing Arts/Dance presents the Kansas Dance Festival at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18-19, in Wilner Auditorium. The festival, an eclectic evening of dance, is an annual invitational celebrating the original choreographer of WSU faculty, guest artist choreography and the original choreography of invited faculty from neighboring universities in the region.

The choreography will include contemporary ballet, modern and physical theater. Choreography from WSU faculty Denise Celestin, Sabrina Vasquez, Cheyla Clawson and Nicholas Johnson will also be presented. WSU faculty Amy Baker will present her MFA thesis in two parts during the festival. Alumna Rachel Boyajian will perform as a guest artist. Faculty from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln; Kansas State University; University of Kansas; and Oklahoma University will also perform.
