Reminders

* Last academic year the Tilford Group Commission, in collaboration with the Office of the Provost, established Incentive Grants to Infuse Diversity and Multicultural Learning Outcomes in the Curriculum. Several grant recipients will participate in a panel discussion to share their experiences at 12:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 16), in the RSC ballroom. The panel is co-sponsored by the Office of Faculty Development and Student Success and the Office of Multicultural Affairs.

* The Fall Physics Seminar Series will feature John Rubin of Rubin Productions presenting "Portraying Physics in Film, Documentaries and the News" at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 16) in 128 Jabara Hall. http://www.wichita.edu/physics

* The next speaker in the Fall 2011 Chemistry Colloquium series, professor Liskin Swint-Kruse of the KU School of Medicine, will speak on "Functional Effects of Amino Acid Polymorphisms: Implications for Individualized Patient Therapies and Protein Engineering" at 3:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 16), in 224 McKinley Hall. http://www.wichita.edu/j/?1267

* A film screening of the documentary, "Just Like Us," is from 6:30-7:50 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 16), in the CAC Theater. Admission is free. The movie features Egyptian-American comedian and director, Ahmed Ahmed, along with a host of critically acclaimed international stand-up comedians in a tour of the Middle East. * The Student Activities Council is looking for artists who would like to display an installation piece in Shocker Square in the RSC for one week, starting March 5. Forms for installation are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, in 219 RSC.

* The David and Sally Jackman Scholarly Lecture Series and the Department of Anthropology present the talk "Mesa Verde, The Rio Grande, and Human Diversity" by archaeologist Scott Ortman at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in 128 Jabara Hall. For more information, call 978-3195.

* The Admissions Brown Bag Lunch Series continues at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov 17, in 429 Ahlberg Hall as an open forum for dialogue regarding recruitment and admissions specifically for new health professions majors. Attendees can come prepared with their own questions or thoughts, or simply be invited to hear about the ongoing recruitment efforts coordinated by the Office of Admissions. Mandy Ronen, admissions program coordinator, and Bobby Gandu, director of admissions, will present.
