Mark your calendar for the annual Holiday Tree Lighting reception and ceremony Wednesday, Nov. 30. The reception begins at 3:30 p.m. in the RSC Fireplace Lounge, and the tree lighting is at 4 p.m. in the RSC north courtyard. Attendees will enjoy refreshments, holiday music, memories of WSU holidays past, and an opportunity to win door prizes.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation to support the Wichita Children's Home and The Treehouse -- two local resources for children in crisis and expectant mothers or mothers experiencing a hardship. New adult and children pajamas will be collected to benefit the Wichita Children's Home. New or gently used infant onesies or sleepers, diapers, baby wipes, baby wash and baby lotion will be collected to benefit The Treehouse.

The holiday celebration continues at 5:30 p.m. with a free organ concert featuring Lynne Davis on the Marcussen organ in Wiedemann Recital Hall. This is Davis' second annual Christmas concert and the 25th anniversary of the installation of the Marcussen. The concert will feature favorite Christmas carols for the audience to sing, as well as some festive organ and choral pieces.
