Reminders

* The Fall Physics Seminar Series will feature professor Marco Bozzo, University of Genova, Italy, with a presentation, "Total and elastic cross-sections at CERN's LHC TOTEM experiment," today (Wednesday, Nov. 30) in 128 Jabara Hall. * The next speaker in the Fall 2011 Chemistry Colloquium series, professor Kent Gates of the University of Missouri-Columbia, will speak on "Endogenous and Exogenous Small Molecules for the Regulation of Protein Tyrosine Phosphatases" at 3:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 30) in 224 McKinley Hall.

* Don't miss the annual Holiday Tree Lighting reception and ceremony today (Wednesday, Nov. 30). The reception begins at 3:30 p.m. in the RSC Fireplace Lounge, and the tree lighting is at 4 p.m. in the RSC north courtyard. * The next meeting of the Pre-Tenure Club is from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in 117 Neff Hall. The Pre-Tenure Club will also have an informal social gathering from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Larry Bud's, a casual bar near the southeast corner of Woodlawn and 21st. All probationary faculty are welcome to both events.

* Today (Wednesday, Nov. 30) is Day 3 of the University Bookstore's 12 Days of Christmas Sale. Today's special is 20 percent off tote bags and purses.

* The Mortar Board Senior National Honor Society will collect cash donations for their Virtual Book Drive from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 30) through Friday, Dec. 2, at a table on the first floor of the RSC.
