Student Leadership and Activities Office to merge
Robinson considered several factors as he looked at this restructuring opportunity. There are several financial issues that need to be addressed within the division, and the campus has been asked by the Board of Regents to find ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
According to Robinson, this merger will require the existing offices to change how they plan activities, work with student organizations and engage the Greek community. It is also his goal to enhance leadership development opportunities for the entire campus and student volunteerism and community service.
Effective immediately, Robinson will assume oversight responsibilities for the Center for Student Leadership as the transition plan is developed. There are many details being worked out, and Robinson will address those with everyone as those issues get resolved.
"It is my goal that the new office will be more responsive to the needs of our changing student body as we plan various programs and activities, promote student involvement in student organizations, look to expand our Greek community, develop ways to volunteer in the community and provide community service events, and plan leadership development activities for the entire campus," said Robinson.
If anyone has any questions or comments, do not hesitate to contact Robinson or schedule a time to meet.
