The College of Health Professions has started informal book clubs, which will meet through the spring semester. Students, faculty and staff will be discussing "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks," a fascinating story of a woman diagnosed with cancer in 1951. Her cancer cells were taken without her knowledge and used for medical research. Her cells continue to grow today and are still widely used in medical and scientific laboratories around the world.
