Myrne Roe, former WSU director of communications, recruited 79 local women to contribute stories to "Radiating Like a Stone: Wichita Women and the 1970s Feminist Movement." In 69 essays, including pieces by such emeritus and current professors as Carol Konek, Natasha Fife, Nan Porter and Dorothy Billings, and a host of other notable women, the book captures a crucial decade when the women's rights movement was gaining momentum nationally and locally. Roe will discuss the book at 7 p.m. today (Tuesday, Dec. 13) at Watermark Books, 4701 E. Douglas Ave.
