Open forum for presidential search

There will be an open forum regarding the search for WSU's next president from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, in the Marcus Welcome Center auditorium. Bill Funk of the R. William Funk search firm and Steve Clark, the Presidential Search Committee chair, will lead the discussion. This is to give the campus population an opportunity for input.

The R. William Funk and Associates search firm will be proactively reaching out to those they view as the best possible candidates around the country. The firm asks attendees to consider the following:

1. What are the significant challenges and opportunities the new president will inherit? Please consider both the near term and long term.

2. Considering these major challenges and opportunities, what kind of person do you feel would be best prepared to address the challenges and engage the opportunities? If you could draw a picture of the ideal next president, what would he/she look like? What kind of experience, leadership style, personality and world view should that person have?

3. What is there that is so compelling about WSU that can be shared with candidates to encourage them to become an active candidate.
