* Faculty and staff are encouraged to remind students of the Academic Cross-Training Study Skills Workshops that help students achieve academic fitness. * Faculty members interested in learning about academic exchange abroad through the Fulbright program are invited to the webinar "What's New for the Fulbright Core Program (2013-2014)" from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, in the Wireless Learning Space at the Media Resources Center. * Faculty are encouraged to announce in their classes an opportunity for senior students to take the Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA). Several times are available from Wednesday, Feb. 1, to Thursday, April 12. See http://www.wichita.edu/j/?1405. Each student who completes the CLA will receive a $25 participant award from QuikTrip.

* The Intensive English Language Center needs volunteers to be conversation leaders and spend time on Wednesdays helping international students practice English conversation skills. If you are a native speaker of American English and would like to volunteer, send a message to william.thomas@wichita.edu.

* "Assessment Best Practices: Assessing Student Learning" will be the first of three programs in the Spring 2012 Assessment Symposia Schedule from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, in 203 RSC. * All WSU teams participating in the 2012 Heart Walk and Run will do so in memory of WSU professor Les Anderson, who died in November from a heart attack. Team captains are needed to help sign up colleagues to participate in the walk or 5K run in downtown Wichita on Wednesday evening, May 2. Participants will receive a specially designed "Team Les" T-shirt to wear at the event. * Nominations are being accepted for the President's Award for Distinguished Service for Unclassified Professionals. The nomination form and instructions can be found on the Unclassified Professional Senate website at http://www.wichita.edu/upsenate. Nominations are due by noon Friday, Feb. 24.
