Thanks to 50 current and retired faculty and staff, the Holiday Card Scholarship fund received more than $1,700 this season -- an increase of about 20 percent compared to a year ago. The WSU tradition was established in 1962 by the late Nicholas Pronko, professor emeritus of psychology, who felt that money normally spent on cards and postage would help fund a scholarship for deserving students. This endowed fund is providing two deserving students scholarships totaling more than $1,500 this semester.
