Spring Entrepreneurship Forum Series kicks off Feb. 9
The series opens with Denise Stiff, founder of DS Management in Nashville, Tenn., longtime manager of Alison Kraus and executive poducer of music for the award-winning film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?," who will share her experiences applying entrepreneurship in the music industry.
On Thursday, March 8, Jimmy John Liautaud, founder of Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwich Shops, will tell his story of starting a sandwich stand at age 19, and how he and this one-person operation have grown up to be one of the fastest growing food franchises using an irreverent attitude and non-traditional marketing.
The series will conclude on Thursday, April 5, with a fascinating panel of people who have changed careers through entrepreneurial efforts. This panel will share their motivations and "lessons learned" in experiencing a dramatic livelihood change from mainline career to business ownership.
All forums are from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and are free and open to the public. For more information, go to http://www.wichita.edu/forum.
