Services for former adjunct assistant professor Jim Avant will be held at 1:23 p.m. (yes, that's right) Saturday, Feb. 18, at RiverWalk Church of Christ, 225 N. Waco. Avant died Tuesday, Feb. 14. Avant, who taught at WSU from Sept. 1, 1966, till May 17, 1985, was 71. Visitation with family will be from 6-8 p.m. today (Friday, Feb. 17) at Downing and Lahey East at 6555 E.
