WSU to present Compliments and Complaints concert
The program begins with the Women's Choir (Las Voces Dolce) singing songs from the sea. Their upbeat program of lyric chanteys and delightful patter songs will bring a smile to the audience.
The Douglas madrigal singers are fresh from a performance for the Kansas Music Educators state convention. Their program demonstrates a wide array of vocal talent and high energy.
The WSU Madrigal Singers look at relationships through song. From the traditional madrigals "Mother, I Will Have a Husband," and "April is in My Mistress' Face" to the contemporary arrangements of "Forget About the Boy" and "You Are the New Day," they explore the ebb and flow of interactions between the sexes.
The program ends with the culmination of a project begun by the WSU's Ulrich Museum called the Wichita Complaints Choir. Using comments collected during six months, this song is a fun look at what people in Wichita have to say about their weather, roads, neighbors and politicians. You will nod your head in agreement and laugh at the social commentary of the Complaints Choir.
