* Pat Hayes, KMUW's member services coordinator, is one of the honorees receiving the President's Distinguished Service Award at the Shocker Pride Celebration today (Wednesday, April 25). Hayes talks with Frank Dudgeon about her career at KMUW, which began in 1978. The interview will air at about 8:35 a.m. today on KMUW 89.1 FM. A longer version of the interview will be posted at http://www.kmuw.org later this morning.

* Daniel M. Kaplan, Illinois Insitute of Technology, will present "Muon Cooling and Future Muon Facilities" in a Physics Seminar at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 25) in 128 Jabara Hall. Refreshments and discussion will follow the presentation.

* The final speaker in the Spring 2012 Chemistry Colloquium will be Anil Mahapatro, assistant professor of industrial and manufacturing engineering and bioengineering at Wichita State, speaking on "Tailored Surface Modification of Biomaterials via Organic Coatings" at 3:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 25) in 224 McKinley Hall.

* The second recipient of the Maha "Maggie" Sawan Fellowship for Graduate Students will be announced at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 26, at the Garvey International Center (17th and Hillside). All are welcome to attend. This award was established by Edwin Sawan, professor emeritus in electrical engineering and computer science, to honor the memory of his late wife, Maha "Maggie" Sawan.
