Ulrich welcomes New York-based photographer to campus

The Ulrich Museum has partnered with the Salina Art Center to welcome New York-based artist Dawit L. Petros for an illustrated artist talk, "Forging New Boundaries," at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 3, in 210 McKnight Art Center West (WSU School of Art and Design), followed by an art walk through campus at 5:30 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.

A modern-day flaneur, or stroller, Petros' photographs and installations investigate boundaries -- geographical, cultural and artistic.

Petros has exhibited at the Studio Museum in Harlem, New York, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Detroit, Mich., and has received a Fulbright Fellowship.

This program is in collaboration with the WSU Ceramics Guild, WSU Printmaking Guild, WSU Sculpture Guild and the Salina Art Center Artist-in-Residence program.
