A May 5 reunion lunch marked the 35th anniversary of the Wallace scholarship program. In 1976, the Dwane and Velma Wallace Endowment, which supports scholarships for engineering students and provides funds for the WSU College of Engineering, was created. The endowment has benefited more than 270 engineering majors and inspired another funding avenue for engineers, the Wallace Alumni Legacy Endowed Scholarship Fund, which was formed in 2002 with a goal of raising $100,000. Half that goal has been reached and, as part of the reunion, fundraising efforts have been renewed -- and the goal increased to $150,000.
