This message is directed at employees who are enrolled in health insurance through the State Employee Health Plan through WSU -- A generic version of Lipitor (atorvastatin) has been on the market now for six months. Once a generic drug is available for six months, the brand-name drug becomes non-preferred by our plan. Therefore, effective July 1, brand-name Lipitor will become a non-preferred drug.
