Reminders

* Employees who are enrolled in health insurance through the State Employee Health Plan through WSU take note -- once a generic drug is available for six months, the brand-name drug becomes non-preferred by our plan. Effective July 1, brand-name Lipitor will become a non-preferred drug. As a non-preferred drug, members will be responsible for 60 percent of the total drug cost. For more information, go to http://www.kdheks.gov/hcf/sehp/Vendors/CaremarkRx.htm.

* The Shocker Card Center and Commerce Bank are scheduled to be closed Wednesday through Friday, June 20-22, so they can move to their new location in 201 Rhatigan Student Center. They plan to reopen on Monday, June 25.

* A training session on using Acrobat X to Create Fillable Forms will be offered Tuesday, June 19, in 119 Jabara Hall. To view training dates and register for the class, log in to myWSU, select EmpHelp (orange cube under the Weather) and myTraining. Click the Register button to view session details and register for training.

* The July 31 deadline is fast approaching for employees who are on the State Employee Health Plan to earn Reward Points for the health insurance discount in FY2013. For more information, go to http://www.kdheks.gov/hcf/sehp/active/ActiveNewsJune2012.pdf.

* Requisitions are due at the WSU Foundation by 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, for checks to be available Friday, June 29. Emergency checks can be issued on an as-needed basis. All deposits must be in by June 29 to be posted in FY12.

* Because of campus construction projects there are some changes in how to access the RSC and Brennan Hall. If you have a disability that affects your mobility, the RSC is only accessible on the west side. Brennan Hall is temporarily not accessible. If you need to meet with someone housed in Brennan, please call them and they will make arrangements to meet with you at another location on campus. If you have any concerns about access during these construction projects, contact Grady Landrum at 978-3309.

* After 13 1/2 years at Wichita State, Don and Shirley Beggs are moving on. Joe Kleinsasser, longtime director of WSU's news and media relations, recently had the opportunity to interview this extraordinary presidential couple in the president's office. Following are highlights from that interview. http://www.wichita.edu/j/?1630
