The Emory Lindquist Honors Program welcomes Kimberly Engber, associate professor of English, as its new director. Engber, whose research focuses on American women writers, anthropologists and writers of fictional autobiographies, earned her bachelor's in English from Kenyon College and her Ph.D. in English with a specialization in women's and gender studies at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. She has taught at Hunter College as well as in Japan and Europe, including a year at the University of Zagreb on a Fulbright fellowship. She earned tenure this year, and in May the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences awarded her the John R. Barrier Distinguished Teaching Award. Details of a welcome reception to be held in the first week of classes will be announced in August.
