WSU TRIO Upward Bound Math Science has announced a Gates Millenium Scholar among its 2012 high school graduates. Shauntel Pearson recently received word that she is the recipient of a full-ride scholarship to any college in the United States. The scholarship, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will pay for all educational fees including and up to those associated with earning a terminal degree. Shauntel Pearson has decided to attend Wichita State University, and will pursue an undergraduate degree in bioengineering. Her plans are ultimately to attend medical school and become a doctor.
