Annual Fund hits fundraising goal and breaks record

Thanks to the support of many faculty and staff and thousands of WSU alumni, the WSU Foundation Annual Fund for Excellence raised more than $491,000 in fiscal year 2012. In addition to exceeding its goal of $475,000, the total is the most money raised by the program in its history. The annual fund supports WSU’s six colleges and University Libraries with unrestricted funds.

This past year, more than $10,000 was donated to University Libraries, often as a donor’s additional gift in the amount of $10.

“The dedicated work of WSU Foundation annual fund staff and students this year was instrumental in increasing support for collections and services in the University Libraries,” said Don Gilstrap, dean of University Libraries. “As one key example, annual fund giving has enabled us to continue the textbook collection on reserve in Ablah Library to help defray students' costs of attending WSU. It is through the generous support of WSU donors that we are able to make programs like this possible.”
